OVERTURE. Amidst revelry, we look to the past to view our formative times in a new light.
ARIA. Without a pause in his journey, our weathered hero, SUPLINGTON, gives new life to his previous accounts by lending his words to friends, new & old. Prefaced, naturally, by a new reflective tale, penned in his signature Downtempo House.
CHORUS. Like a distant echo, uncanny yet warmly familiar, eight friends have taken to translate Suplington’s original scripts, singing in their native tongue. MAGICAL MISTAKES twists TOKYO’s darkness into infectious, rolling ELECTRONICA, where ARCHIE PELAGO give ESCAPISM wings of JAZZ and CLASSICAL. STEFAN JOS pushes MABOROSI with a minimal, ambient TECHNO deconstruction.
On the latter half, JOVIAN PATH takes the once-moody OSOKU and imbues it with the rhythmic urgency of JUKE. HECTOR PLIMMER flirts with suspense in his drum translation of TOKYO, in contrast to DAIXIE’s slow-burning TRIP HOP version. And, in true cyclical fashion, RYV rewrites Suplington’s new song into a lo-fi beat experiment.
CODA. To further celebrate the long overdue arrival of Suplington’s vinyl in stores, our prodigal son SASQUATCH spins TOKYO into a thunderous, cinematic DUB—available exclusively from the Youngbloods store.
